"Your Story, Your Taipei" Giveaway · Last updated: 2026-05-29

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in the "Your Story, Your Taipei" giveaway campaign (the "Campaign") operated by Woowaa Asset Management Co., Ltd. By entering the Campaign, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Organizer information

2. Campaign period & timeline

All times are Taiwan Standard Time (TST, UTC+8).

• Entry period: 2026-06-04 12:00 – 2026-06-14 23:59
• Drawing: 2026-06-15 09:00
• Winners announced: 2026-06-15 (same day as drawing)
• Winner verification window: 5 business days from notification
• Final winners confirmed: on or before 2026-06-28

3. Eligibility

• Open to non-Taiwanese-national individuals globally.
• Entrants must be planning a verifiable stay in Taiwan within the prize redemption period — including but not limited to study, language exchange, Working Holiday, ARC-holding work, business travel, or events such as Computex.
• Initial entry is open and requires no documentation. Verification of eligibility is requested only from winners (see Section 6).
• Employees of the Organizer and their immediate family members are not eligible.

4. How to enter & ticket calculation

Required (1 entry)

• Follow @ting.states on Instagram
• Comment on the pinned post
• Complete the Step 1 form on this site (email, IG handle, country, one thing you love about Taiwan)

Bonus tasks (optional)

• Invite a friend via your unique referral link — +1 per verified referral, up to a maximum of 5
• Share to your IG Story tagging @ting.states — +2 (one-time)
• Complete the Step 2 form (planned arrival, length of stay, visa type, etc.) — +3 (one-time)

Maximum 11 entries per person. Each entry is a separate chance in the drawing.

5. Prizes & terms

Grand prize (1 winner)

• One (1) thirty (30) day free stay at TING STATES, market value approximately NT$36,000.
• Must be redeemed within 2 years of the drawing date.
• 30 consecutive days; the stay is not splittable into shorter segments.
• No peak-season blackout dates.
• Room type is allocated by TING STATES based on availability at the time of booking.
• Includes: room rate, Wi-Fi, scheduled cleaning fee.
• Excludes: utilities (deducted from a NT$10,000 refundable deposit) and any optional surcharges.
• Non-transferable. Non-redeemable for cash or any other consideration.
• Subject to tax withholding (see Section 7).

Runner-up prizes (10 winners)

• One (1) 20% Off Long-Stay Voucher per winner.
• Valid only for stays of 30 nights or more.
• Discount applies to a maximum of 180 nights per voucher.
• Must be redeemed within 1 year of the drawing date.
• Non-transferable. Cannot be combined with any other promotion, discount, or voucher.

6. Winner notification & verification

Winners will receive an email notification at the address provided at entry within 24 hours of the drawing. Winners must reply within 5 business days with:

1. Written confirmation of acceptance of the prize and these Terms; and
2. Documentary proof of planned or current stay in Taiwan.

Accepted proofs of stay

• Student visa
• Working Holiday Visa
• Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)
• Business visa
• Computex or other recognised event badge, combined with the relevant passport page
• Enrollment letter from a Taiwan educational institution
• Secondment letter from an employer for an assignment in Taiwan

Pure tourist visas and holders of Taiwan (R.O.C.) passports are not eligible and will be considered invalid proof.

7. Tax withholding (Taiwan)

Pursuant to Article 14, Paragraph 1, Category 8 of the Taiwan Income Tax Act, the grand prize constitutes prize income and is subject to withholding tax. The applicable withholding rate is:

• 10% for tax residents of Taiwan (cumulative stay of 183 days or more in the calendar year, or ARC-holding residents).
• 20% for non-residents.

Based on the assessed prize value of NT$36,000, the grand prize winner is required to remit the withholding amount — NT$3,600 (resident) or NT$7,200 (non-resident) — to the Organizer's designated bank account within 5 business days of acceptance. The Organizer will file the corresponding withholding statement with the tax authorities and provide a copy to the winner.

Runner-up vouchers are discount instruments and do not constitute prize income; no withholding applies.

8. Forfeiture & redraw

A winner's prize will be forfeited under any of the following circumstances:

• Failure to respond to the notification email within 5 business days;
• Failure to provide valid proof of eligibility as listed in Section 6;
• Failure to remit the required withholding tax within 5 business days of acceptance.

Upon forfeiture, the drawing will proceed to the next entry using a deterministic seed offset of +1. A maximum of 3 redraws per prize slot will be performed; if no eligible winner is found after 3 redraws, the prize slot will be retired and announced as unawarded.

9. Fairness statement (commit-reveal drawing)

To ensure the drawing is verifiable by any third party, the Organizer uses a public commit-reveal scheme:

1. At Campaign launch, the Organizer publishes a SHA-256 hash of a randomly generated nonce on this Terms page and on the pinned Instagram post.
2. After the entry period closes, the original nonce is revealed.
3. The drawing seed is computed as SHA-256(nonce || sorted_entry_ids). The sorted entry list is published alongside the revealed nonce.
4. Any third party may independently reproduce the drawing using the open-source script scripts/draw.mjs published in the Campaign repository.

10. Reserved rights

• The Organizer reserves the right to amend these Terms with prior public notice on this page.
• The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entry that shows evidence of fraud, automation, duplicate accounts, or other abusive behavior.
• In the event of force majeure or circumstances beyond the Organizer's reasonable control, the Organizer reserves the right to extend, shorten, suspend, or cancel the Campaign with public notice on this page.

11. Personal data protection (PDPA + cross-border transfer)

Personal data collected in connection with this Campaign is processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act of Taiwan ("PDPA").

• Email address
• Instagram handle
• Country / region
• Optional Step 2 information (planned arrival, length of stay, visa type, city, budget, source)
• Campaign-related browsing data via the Meta Pixel (subject to your consent)

Purposes of processing

• Campaign execution (entry validation, drawing, winner notification, verification, prize delivery)
• Marketing and remarketing communications relating to TING STATES and Woowaa for a period of 24 months from the end of the Campaign

Recipients

• Woowaa Asset Management Co., Ltd. (controller)
• Processors providing infrastructure and delivery services: Meta, Google, Cloudflare, Resend

Cross-border transfer

Personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other regions where the above processors operate. By entering the Campaign you consent to such transfer.

Data subject rights

You may request access, correction, portability, erasure, or cessation of processing of your personal data at any time by contacting service@woo-waa.com. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

12. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.
